Innovations and Inventions

Our research and development activities and plans for the future include the following:

  • Production of the Pentavalent vaccine.

  • Production and registration of the Eptifibatide active pharmaceutical ingredient (API).

  • Obtaining the certification for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for pharmaceutical raw materials.

For two decades, the Ministry of Health and Medical Education sought to introduce the Pentavalent vaccine into the preventable disease program to replace the trivalent vaccine. The Pentavalent vaccine protects children against five threatening diseases: Diphtheria, Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Tetanus, Hepatitis B, and Haemophilus Influenzae Type B (Hib). The Hib vaccine is the new and fifth component in the universal vaccination scheme.

Future plans

Developing drug production technology and improving effectiveness

Our research and development activities and plans for the future include the following:

  • Developing technology in the production of biological drugs used for the treatment of metabolic diseases, rheumatology, cancer, MS, cardiovascular diseases, obstetrics and gynecology, hematology, and various types of vaccines.

  • Advancing the delivery of novel pharmaceutical forms to improve medicinal quality and efficacy.

Peptide API Production

Today, the use of peptides as new drugs is increasing due to their high potency, low risk of side effects, and favorable therapeutic results. To date, more than 60 types of peptides have been produced and marketed globally by reputable pharmaceutical companies. It is worth noting that in the last ten years, the rate of peptide drug approvals by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been double that of other drugs. Biosun Pharmed’s range of services and products in peptide preparations has so far included the synthesis of Eptifibatide and Octreotide; however, in the company’s vision, this product portfolio for the peptide drug family will reach more than 12 peptide drugs.
